Copyright and media law

Our team on copyright and media law

Our roots

The roots of HERTIN & Partner lie in copyright and publishing law. In October 1945, Dr. Friedrich Karl Fromm opened the law firm in Berlin, whose tradition we still maintain and continue today. Our focus on copyright and publishing law at that time lead to an excellent reputation throughout Germany and still forms an important part of our work today.

Over the years, however, many new aspects of copyright have emerged and thus we have also adapted our advice to the issues of the day, namely comprehensive advice in the field of traditional as well as new media, social media, internet, TV, music, literature and, of course, art.

Many years of experience

Our wealth of experience in extrajudicial and judicial proceedings, including numerous test cases and proceedings in principle, is available to you as a client of HERTIN & Partner. We not only advise you, we also enforce your claims or defend you against attacks by third parties, such as preparing expert opinions, advising on licensing, publishing and contract law and on remuneration issues vis-à-vis your contractual partners and collecting societies, and much more.

Regardless of whether you are creatively active yourself as an author or artist or whether you exploit the creative achievements of others, you will find the right contact person with us.
