Orjin Han supports the team of Hertin & Partner as a patent engineer. Her responsibilities include evaluating invention disclosures, drafting patent applications, enforcing IP rights, evaluating searches, and assisting in opposition and appeal proceedings.

Her scope of expertise covers a wide range of scientific disciplines, especially in the fields of life sciences, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals.

Biography

Orjin Han holds a degree in Biotechnology from the Technical University of Berlin, where she specialized in medical biotechnology. During her studies, she served as a tutor at the university and gained significant research experience at prestigious institutions, including the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin and the Yale Cardiovascular Research Center (YCVRC) at Yale University in the United States. 

Orjin Han earned her doctorate from the School of Life Sciences at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) in South Korea. Her doctoral research focused on the role of the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signaling pathway in vascular formation, with a particular emphasis on its interplay with metabolic disorders and its regulation via post-translational modifications. 

With her extensive scientific expertise, Orjin Han brings a deep understanding of biotechnology, molecular biology, and medical research. Her analytical skills and technical knowledge enable her to address complex biotechnological and medical challenges with precision and insight.
