Dr. Jessica Lukassen

Patent Engineer

Dr. Jessica Lukassen has been working in the field of intellectual property since 2021. At Hertin, she is involved in the evaluation of invention disclosures, the drafting of patent applications, the enforcement of intellectual property rights, the evaluation of searches and the participation in patent grant, opposition and appeal proceedings. Ms. Lukassen has extensive expertise in the fields of molecular biology, antibody development, clinical diagnostics, peptide display technologies, gene regulation, epigenetics, gene editing, including CRISPR, among others.

Biography

After studying biology and cell and molecular biology at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and a subsequent six-month internship in the pharmaceutical industry, Ms. Lukassen completed her doctorate at the Chair of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg. As part of her doctorate, she focused on the identification of transcriptional regulators of ribosome biogenesis using genome-wide reporter screens.

Her experience in the pharmaceutical industry also gave her valuable insights into industrial antibody development.

With her scientific expertise, Jessica Lukassen combines in-depth knowledge in various areas of biology with the ability to precisely analyze complex biological matters.
