Jana Rabe joined Hertin & Partner in 2022 and advises clients in the fields of patent, trademark, and design law.
Her main areas of activity include the assessment of invention disclosures, the drafting of patent applications, the development of filing strategies, and the defense and enforcement of intellectual property rights.
In doing so, she can draw on extensive expertise in areas including pharmaceutical formulation, nanomedicine, diagnostic and gene therapy methods, materials science, and drug development.
Jana Rabe also advises clients on national and international trademark law in relation to the registration and enforcement of trademark rights.
Biography
After studying pharmacy at the Free University of Berlin and a research stay at the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences (SIPS) in Glasgow, UK, Jana Rabe completed her PhD at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Macromolecular Chemistry (IOMC) at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. Her doctoral research focused on the development of functional polymer-based materials for gene delivery and their biological characterization.
Her research results have been published in numerous scientific publications in renowned journals (Biomacromolecules, Nanoscale, Journal of Nanobiotechnology, International Journal of Pharmaceutics and others).
She is admitted and authorized to represent clients before the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), the German Federal Patent Court (BPatG), the European Union Intellectual Property Office in Alicante (EUIPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
