Luke Buchanan comes from New Zealand, where he studied biochemistry, molecular biology and genetics at the University of Canterbury. He was involved as a research assistant in projects on Horizontal Gene Transfer und Biosafety (University of Canterbury, New Zealand) and Molecular Microbiology (AgResearch, New Zealand).
Dr. Buchanan carried out his PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) and Post-doc research at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG), Dresden, and the Biotechnological Centre of the Technical University of Dresden in the field of Epigenetic Gene Regulation and Proteomics.
He is co-author of research papers published in international peer-reviewed journals in the fields of epigenetic gene regulation, protein-protein interactions and quantitative analysis of posttranslational protein modification using mass spectrometry.
