Orjin Han supports the team of Hertin & Partner as a patent engineer. Her responsibilities include evaluating invention disclosures, drafting patent applications, enforcing IP rights, evaluating searches, and assisting in opposition and appeal proceedings.

Her scope of expertise covers a wide range of scientific disciplines, especially in the fields of life sciences, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals.

Biography

After her studies at the Technical University of Berlin and her research activities at the Robert Koch Institute Berlin and the Yale Cardiovascular Research Center (YCVRC) at Yale University in the United States, she conducted research in the field of cardiovascular medicine as part of her PhD at the School of Life Sciences at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) in South Korea.

During her PhD, Orjin primarily studied the role of the Bone Morphogenetic Protein (BMP) signaling pathway during vascular formation, especially the interplay between the BMP signaling and metabolic disorders and their regulation by post-translational modifications
