Dr. Lena Schäfer

Patent Engineer

Lena Schäfer supports the Hertin & Partner team as a patent engineer. She is involved in evaluating invention disclosures, drafting patent applications, enforcing intellectual property rights, evaluating research, as well as in opposition and appeal proceedings.

Through interdisciplinary scientific activity, she can draw on versatile expertise, including in the fields of (bio)physics, physical chemistry, optics, electrochemistry, and biotechnology.

Biography

After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree from Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg, Lena Schäfer completed a Master's degree in biophysics at Humboldt University of Berlin. She conducted her master's thesis at the Institute of Experimental Physics at Freie Universität Berlin.

or her doctoral research, she joined the Institute of Physical Chemistry at Technische Universität Berlin, focusing on experimental methods for time-resolved resonance Raman spectroscopy. Additionally, she also extensively studied surface-enhanced IR-spectroscopy and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
