Biography

After studying pharmacy at the Free University of Berlin and a research stay at the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences in Glasgow, UK, Jana Solomun completed her PhD at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Macromolecular Chemistry at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. Her doctoral research focused on the development of functional polymer-based materials for gene delivery and their biological characterization.

By conducting her doctorate in an interdisciplinary DFG Collaborative Research Center, she also gained diverse insights into a wide range of topics in chemistry, pharmacy and medicine, such as polymer synthesis and the development of new anti-inflammatory agents.

Her research results have been published in numerous scientific publications in renowned journals (Biomacromolecules, Nanoscale, Journal of Nanobiotechnology, International Journal of Pharmaceutics and others).
